We acknowledge that the land on which we gather is Treaty 4 land, the traditional territory of the Cree, Saulteaux bands of the Ojibwa peoples, and the Assiniboine, and Metis.

The Cree and Saulteaux signed Treaty 4 in the Town of Fort Qu’Appelle on September 15, 1874.

The Treaty 4 Governance Centre sits on treaty ground. Each year in September an annual gathering takes place on treaty ground in the Qu’Appelle Valley to reconnect, recognize and honor the spirit and intent of Treaty 4.
